Today, April 19, 2012, ATA participated in the official presentation of the year of Green Buildings, Efficiency and Sustainability that was organized by the Association of Surveyors and Building Engineers of Madrid. The year of the Green Building dedicated its first seminar to a presentation of the basics of Green Buildings, trends and future prospects. ATA supports and applauds this grand initiative in Green Building and reminds the community that ATA offers a full range of consulting services for meeting the challenges that lie ahead.
Our CEO, Pablo Valera, participated in the "3rd Annual Conference PV Power Plants - Europe 2012" that took place in Vienna on March 29th and 30th. Solarpraxis was responsible for directing the envent and the conference covered a range of topics including, quality, recycling and financing of photovoltaic projects.
Today at the University Carlos III of Leganes our Director General, Jose Tejada, gave a presentation at the Conference on Strategies for Auto-consumption with Solar Energy. Principally and within the framework established at the conference, the main focus was developed around financing solar energy projects under a self-consumption regime.
Pablo Valera has offered a masters class at IES, the Polytechnical University of Madrid, where he developed topics related to financing solar energy projects, Due Diligence and project development. This was not the first time that Pablo Valera has offered a solar energy classes at this University, in the past he also offered "Development and Execution of Photovoltaic Plants" and "Financing PV Installations: Certifications, Insurance and Public Cost to Achieve Grid Parity".

Astrom Technical Advisors, S.L. is immersed in the process of receiving accreditation from ENAC, as an “Certified Inspector” for the procedure P.O. 12.3. Please note that to comply with this procedure it is necessary to adapt all photovoltaic plants larger than 2 MW to the requirements of responding to voltage drops. The technical solution that is chosen must be verified by an accredited laboratory and the results reviewed by a Certified Inspector.
In this regard, please note that accreditation as a Certified Inspector does not imply any conflict of interest with the other services that are currently offered by ATA.
After over six years providing independent technical advising services in Spain, Astrom is changing its name in order to launch a new stage in its life. Under the new name of ATA (Astrom Technical Advisors, S.L.), the company aspires to continue as the leader in independent technical advising in solar energy, as well as one of the leaders in renewable energy. For this new stage, the company has decided to rebrand to a simpler and more effective name that also accommodates the international growth that the company has experienced in the past few years.
ATA will maintain the same executive team and shareholder structure. Also, it will have offices in Madrid, Seville, Rome, Paris, Athens, and Sofia, with more to come soon in the USA, Canada and Argentina.
Through the evolution experienced over the past few years in company size, services offered, importance of projects led, both on a national and international level, ATA counts on your continued trust in the company.

Our CEO, Pablo Valera, participated as a speaker in the 4th edition of the debate forum that took place on July 16 2011, on the current situation and regulatory framework of solar photovoltaic energy. The forum falls within the Execute Master on Renewable Energy of the ITE (Technological Institute of Energy), IMPICA, Valencian Parliament, the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, and AVEN (Energy Agency of Valencia), where Pablo is also a professor for the 4th consecutive year.
Starting May 20, 2011 a 12:00h until June 30 at 24:00h, the registration period for large photovoltaic plants in Italy will be open. Registration should be done directly through the GSE website, where a complete guide on the procedure can be found.

Through the internationalization efforts of ATA and its investment in the Greek market, the new ATA office in Athens was opened on April 1, 2011.

March 1, 2011 celebrated the first anniversary of the ATA office in Rome, Italy. Although ATA had been participating in the Italian market since 2007, the official opening of the Italian office allowed the company to put together a permanent group of talented professionals focused on the Italian market. In the past few years, ATA has participated as technical advisor in over 500 MW of photovoltaic projects in Italy.
The new Royal Decree modifies, among others, the Royal Decree 661/2007 and establishes equivalent functioning hours per year of the photovoltaic installations for the different solar climate zones, as stipulated in the Building Technical Code. [more info]
The current Royal Decree entered into vigor on December 9, 2010 and regulated the compensation for wind installations using Royal Decree 661/2007 and those whose production capacity exceeds 50 MW. In addition, the update also affects solar thermal installations, which will be obliged to use the tariff during the first 12 months while obtaining the definitive functioning of the plant, regulating the equivalent reference hours. José Tejada, engineer from ICAI and EMBA from the IESE Business School, has joined ATA as General Director. He will also be the General Manager and co-founder of the new company, ATA Asset Management, dedicated to active management of renewable plants. José has significant experience in the renewable energy sector through his work with various companies.
This project is part of the “Solar Flagship Program” from the Australian government. The program has a budget of $1.5 billion AUD for the developement of solar photovoltaic plants up to 1 GW.
This PV project, located in Rovigo, Italy, is currently under construction and is one of the largest in the world.
The Subcommittee on systems of solar thermal electricity AEN/CTN206/SC took place March 2, presided by Protermosolar and in which UNESA took the role as secretary. [more info]

ATA signed an agreement of patent use from the systems group of the presitigious Solar Energy Institute of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, led by Professor Eduardo Lorenzo. The patent is closely related to the services offered by ATA, included the measuring and electrical description of grid-connected photovoltaic plants.
The Renewable Energy Plan 2005–2010 was approved in 2005 with the goal of reinforcing the priorities of government energy policy. [more info]
